How to use High Performance Computing and Cloud Services to answer your scientific questions

Neuroscientific research comes along with a multitude of highly complex data. Using High Performance Computing (HPC) and Cloud Services can help to better process and understand your data and to get the maximum information out of it.

In this 2.5 day hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use resources at the Jülich Supercomputing Center (JSC) for your neuroscientic research questions. Get inspirated by professional use cases and be in one-on-one exchange with the experts in the Simulation and Data Laboratory Neuroscience (SDL) Jülich.

Participation in the Event is open to early career researchers (PhD and early Post-docs), regardless of whether they are affiliated with the Bernstein Network or not. We particularly encourage young scientists to register and aim at an equal gender representation.

The event is currently planned in a hybrid format enabling online or on-site participation. But due to the uncertainty of the global Covid-19 situation, we have to stay vigilant and adapt flexibly to restrictions.

On-site: Jülich Supercomputing Centre, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, Jülich, Germany (limited to 25 participants, on-site participants need to follow the '2G-rule' and be either vaccinated against or recovered from Covid-19)

Online: Zoom (Link will be sent prior to the event)

Costs:

  Onsite participation* Online participation
Bernstein Member 100€ 20€
Regular 170€ 35€

*Costs include workshop fee, catering and local accomodation.

Application deadline: 25.11.2021

This event is organized by the Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience and the Bernstein Facility for High Performance Simulation and Data Analytics (Jülich Supercomputing Centre).
